Amanda Grigg directs Pew’s state science and technology policy fellowship initiative. In this role, she leads efforts to help states build durable capacity for evidence-informed decision-making by embedding scientific and technical expertise in state legislatures. For more than a decade, Grigg worked at the intersection of science, policy, and public engagement, including designing and managing national initiatives that connect research to decision-making and supporting scientists engaging in public service. She also built and sustained partnerships with policymakers, philanthropic funders, academic institutions, and policy organizations to advance high-impact science policy efforts. Her work is guided by a commitment to science that serves the public good and fosters reciprocal learning between scientists, policymakers, and the public.

Before joining Pew, Grigg served as a director at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and at the American Political Science Association. Her work included launching a congressional fellowship program, codesigning and codirecting a national civic science training institute, establishing a graduate fellowship focused on research translation, and developing grant programs to strengthen scientists' contributions to their local communities.

Grigg holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a master's and Ph.D. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
