Heather Hulen is vice president, executive office, and chief of staff at The Pew Charitable Trusts. She oversees the office that supports the work of Pew’s president and CEO, supporting executive decision-making and cultivating a culture throughout the organization that facilitates cross-functional collaboration and strategic coordination. Hulen leads teams with expertise in project management, research and analysis, internal communications, and operations, and she provides strategic counsel to the CEO and executive team members.

Hulen joined Pew in 2013 as a manager and most recently served as senior director and chief of staff. Before joining Pew, Hulen was chief of staff at the National Student Clearinghouse and held multiple roles with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.

Hulen holds a Bachelor of Arts in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
