This HIA focused on redevelopment of public housing in San Francisco's Western Addition. The project is part of an initiative by the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the Mayor's Office of Housing to work collaboratively to link housing and public health goals. The assessment focused on a wide range of factors influencing health, including housing prices and access to public services, parks and transportation. Other similar HIAs underway address redevelopment of the Sunnydale and Westside Courts public housing sites.
