The Kings Ridge apartments have been traditionally plagued by crime, poverty, and poor health. A new management company purchased the property and developed a community renovation plan that was designed to improve the health, safety, and quality of life of residents. This health impact assessment (HIA) examined the plan and progress, looking at its effects on indicators such as access to health care and healthy foods, safety of the neighborhood, compatibility of the surrounding land uses, and overall improved social capital.
