On May 29, The Pew Charitable Trusts responded to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) call for input on proposed updates to hospital payment policies and reporting programs, urging the agency to improve the quality and timeliness of public health immunization data reporting and exchange.                        

Specifically, Pew called on CMS to move to performance-based measures in its Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program, an effort to strengthen data exchange between health care providers and public health agencies.
