Fentanyl continues to drive overdose deaths in the U.S., but many people who use drugs don’t realize how prevalent it is in the drug supply.

What’s one way to reduce their risk? Increase access to drug-checking equipment such as fentanyl test strips.

These tools identify when fentanyl is present in a drug sample and can help people to make safer decisions, like choosing to use less of a drug or not to use at all. Making drug-checking equipment widely available to people who use drugs can save lives.
