Pew Announces Claire Patenaude as Vice President for Digital Communications
WASHINGTON—The Pew Charitable Trusts announced today that Claire Patenaude will join the organization as its vice president for digital communications in a role that oversees the organization’s digital strategy and visual communications teams. The appointment is effective Oct. 6.
“I’m pleased to welcome Claire as a leader and strategic adviser to our communications team,” said Nasserie Carew, senior vice president and chief communications officer. “As the digital landscape continues to reshape how people discover, engage with, and act on information, Claire’s expertise in audience engagement and digital experience will help us strengthen our digital presence and ensure Pew’s research and insights reach and resonate with the audiences who can put them to use.”
“Pew has spent decades building trust with audiences through rigorous, nonpartisan research and data-driven solutions,” said Patenaude. “I’m honored to help support this mission. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues in communications and the broader organization to expand our impact—delivering accurate, insightful, and relevant content to inform policymakers, strengthen communities, and address today’s most complex challenges.”
Patenaude brings more than 15 years of experience in branding, marketing, and storytelling to Pew. Most recently, she served as vice president of engagement and marketing strategy for the National Geographic Society, where she helped lead audience engagement efforts and supported the launch of the Museum of Exploration. Earlier in her career, she advised nonprofit organizations working in financial services, energy, national security, and international affairs.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
