To mark the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, The Pew Charitable Trusts and Disagree Better will host an event focused on the state of U.S. democracy, highlighting the importance of civil political discourse in a strong republic. Data shows that Americans are concerned about the growing polarization they see in the government. With this data as a backdrop, Pew and Disagree Better will convene three sitting governors to share their insights on how to find common ground and solve important problems through civil conversation.
