Research

Dr. Rehen’s research leverages human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and cerebral organoids to investigate the cellular, molecular, and network-level effects of psychedelics, viral infections (e.g., Zika, Oropouche), and neuropsychiatric disease processes, with an emphasis on neural plasticity and disease modeling. Dr. Rehen serves on the Committee of the Museum of Tomorrow and is affiliated with The World Academy of Sciences and the Latin American Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the Brazilian National Order of Scientific Merit, Commander, in 2023.
