Rea Holmes
Rea Holmes is senior vice president and general counsel at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she oversees corporate legal affairs and risk management matters; provides legal advice to Pew’s board of directors, senior leadership, and staff; and leads the organization’s team of staff attorneys as well as legal, compliance, and board services professionals. Holmes also serves on the board of directors of Pew Research Center, a subsidiary of the Trusts. Previously a director, senior counsel, and vice president at Pew, Holmes worked closely with Pew’s programmatic teams during a period of growth and expansion that included new partnerships and collaborations.
Before joining Pew, Holmes practiced law at the firms of Trister, Ross, Schadler & Gold and Godfrey & Kahn. She also served as the assistant deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and worked for the office of former U.S. Senator Russell D. Feingold (D-WI).
Holmes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. She is a member of the bar in Washington, D.C., and in Wisconsin.
