PHILADELPHIA—The Pew Charitable Trusts today announced the appointments of Natalie Gochnour, Alisa Miller, and Deborah Winshel to its board of directors.

“On behalf of my colleagues on Pew’s board, I am excited to introduce our newest directors—Natalie Gochnour, Alisa Miller, and Deborah Winshel,” said Christopher Jones, chair of Pew’s board. “An organization like Pew, which is committed to solving global challenges through nonpartisan and rigorous research, requires curious and innovative leadership. Natalie, Alisa, and Deborah’s expertise in applied public policy, emerging media technology, and financial and operational management, respectively, will add valuable depth to Pew’s board.”

Natalie Gochnour is the director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute and associate dean of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. She also serves as chief economist for the Salt Lake Chamber. A respected researcher, civic leader, and commentator, she is regarded for her ability to bridge divides, foster collaboration across sectors, and promote informed dialogue. Gochnour has served as an adviser to three Utah governors and served in both the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from the University of Utah.

Alisa Miller is the CEO and board director of Cinereach, an entertainment media organization, and is chair emeritus of the Lumina Foundation. A seasoned leader, Miller is an expert in media transformation and regularly speaks on media and technology topics. Previously, she was the chief artificial intelligence officer at Altheia Marketing & Media, and she was chief executive and co-founder of Pluralytics prior to the company’s acquisition by Aletheia in 2024. Before that, Miller was president, CEO, and executive chairman of Public Radio International. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska and master’s degrees in business administration and in public policy, both from the University of Chicago.

Deborah Winshel serves on the faculty of Harvard Business School, where she teaches courses in leadership and strategy for MBA students and executives. She is an experienced institutional leader and board member with a track record of driving strategic growth, financial stability, and social impact across the private and nonprofit sectors. Winshel previously held senior leadership positions as managing director and global head of social impact at BlackRock and as president of the BlackRock Foundation, in finance and investment banking as a managing director at J.P. Morgan, and in nonprofit management as executive vice president and CFO at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and as president of the Robin Hood Foundation. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
