Immortalized in bronze, a life-size Alexander Hamilton stands among other signers of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center, a longtime grantee of The Pew Charitable Trusts. The scene brings to life the final day of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, when the founders reached compromises on their major disagreements—the balance of power between states, the election of a president, and the future of slavery—and gave birth to the United States of America.
