Pew Promotes Two Staff to Leadership Roles

The Pew Charitable Trusts announced today the promotions of two experienced leaders whose work has helped advance the organization’s mission and strengthen its impact. These appointments reflect Pew’s commitment to continued excellence throughout its programs and operations.

Heather Hulen was promoted to vice president, executive office, and chief of staff, effective July 1. In this role, she oversees the office that supports the work of Pew’s president and chief executive officer and helps advance cross-organizational collaboration and strategic coordination throughout the institution. Since joining Pew in 2013 as a manager, Hulen has held several leadership positions, including, most recently, senior director and chief of staff.

Guinnevere (Winnie) Roberts was promoted to vice president, environment, effective August 1. In this role, she helps lead Pew’s multifaceted environmental portfolio—consisting of ocean, land, and freshwater conservation around the world—as well as efforts to address plastic pollution, climate change, and harmful chemicals. Roberts joined Pew in 2017 and has played an instrumental role in the organization’s ocean conservation projects, the safer chemicals project—which aims to reduce Americans’ exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals—and in crosscutting functions such as environmental science and sustainable conservation finance.
